Hope you enjoy the results. We are very proud of the outcome. We learned a lot while pod casting. I know now how to input a video onto this blogger system. It is very interesting.

Are you my Mother?

This is a video of the story Are you my mother?. Enjoy

contemplating

Today we are thinking about what kind of lesson we would like to teach, it's either team teach or individual teach. We ( Cristina and I) came to the conclusion that we want to team teach. I will keep searching for amusing "stuff" to accompany our story. We pretty much have this in the bag but we can't be to cocky things happen.

On a different subject it is still pretty hot in this lab.

Dr. Luongo's rss2

So Dr. Luongo sent me a link and stated that she wanted it in my blog so

hopefully the chitter chatter of the classmates in the background wont be too distracting from our story!

Five questions

These questions will help the student use his/her experiences and incorporate them into the story.
1. What is the title of the story?
2.What do you think this story will be about?
3.How do you think the baby bird felt when he hatched and didn't see his mother?
4.Why do you think none of the animals he asked " Are you my mother?'' denied the baby bird as their baby?
5.If this were you, What would you do? How would you feel? Would you stay and wait or be like the baby bird and venture out?

2nd shot at reading

Cristina and I just finished reading the story Are you my mother?. It was a success. Although some of the classmates were being disrespectful and talking while recording everything went well. We synced up at the end it was a little hard but we managed. We kept a positive outlook on the situation, we read, had great posture while doing said reading and we had fun. Having fun while reading gives the students a sense of enjoyment that brings them in to the reading side. Our next attepmt would be better.

brain storming

Today we have to think beforehand of what we are planning to do with our story. I think it's self explanatory but pre-thinking it is in a way difficult. There are many scenarios that can occur while attepmting to read said story.
Working with Cristina has been a joy, we know where we want to go with the story, and we have great ideas to incorporate into pod casting our story. I will ask Cristina if she would like to start off with the five questions Dr. Luongo asked us to write for the story. These five questions will slowly but surely get the student/s to join in on the reading (depending on the grade level).
I will write back on the success we've had. (Think positively!)

Podcasting

What do you know about pod casting?

Honestly, I really do not know anything about pod casting. I'm just getting the hang of this said pod casting

What do you think/want to learn about pod casting?

I would like to learn how to become good at pod casting, half-ass is not an option...I would like to learn how it can be added onto a lesson and how pod casting came to be for some odd reason....I'm a nerd I need specifics :-)

What do you see as the advantages to pod casting?

I think the advantages are that if in a school scene you give the students a chance to become aware of how they sound all the while controlling some aspects of what they do. Another good thing about pod casting is that you get to hear how you as the teacher sound and experience what the students hear. Whether you say umm or you guys or the little things you just don't catch yourself saying because its so second nature.

Good day

Well, today started off great. Spent most of my day studying and writing papers. I looked into some websites in regards to Are You My Mother? story. I found some neat worksheets and assignments that could be added onto a lesson.

first mistake

Well today Cristina and I attempted to read the whole story without laughing or making mistakes. We were almost successful but we weren't. It was a fun experience. The book is pretty interesting, if anyone wants to listen to it just click on the link below and leave some comments on how you liked it or how it can improve.

so click on this....

ancient software

So as many of you may know by now, I am no longer working on the Polar Express story I am now working on the Are you my mother story. I am trying to look really hard for sound affects but its really hard with an ancient system. Well we (Cristina and I) are about to read the story again. We are trying to figure out how we are going to go read the story without having unwanted noise in the background.

look at this site

so check out this page, it's hotness... http://evilla.podomatic.com/entry/2009-09-22T07_11_01-07_00 enjoy

podcasting today with Cristina

So,the class is hot yet again.Today Cristina and I will be reading a book by P.D. Eastman titled Are You My Mother?. Cristina is my attempt at a second partner. We will try to read the whole story today if things go right we will have a successful reading. We will read 10 pages each and then towards the end, will will read pages together. I am very excited, yet a bit nervous to read this story. If it doesn't work like planned out, we will try to read it in a different way, but hopefully it will work.
I will try to look online to get the whole story and publish it into this assignment. This way the reader/listener will be able to listen to the story by the writer or listen to the story told by Cristina and I

so far

...well so far this course has been enlightening.I've learned that in order to know how a student or a teacher would react to any situation, you (in this case me) have to put yourself in their place.
the picture is my little cousin, after i picked her up from daycare.
